AHC youth who participated in the Toastmaster Youth Leadership program at Jasper Place public library graduated on Wednesday, April 4.The program offered by AHC (Youth Talk Club ) and Toastmasters International.
After the eight week toastmaster leadership program, youth were given the tools to:
- Evaluate their own speaking ability
- Prepare and give speeches
- Give impromptu talks
- Control their voice, vocabulary and gestures
- Give constructive feedback
Each youth who completed this eight week program was required to take two helper roles (president, sergeant at arms, grammarian, Ah-Counter, etc.…), make two speeches, two table topics and two evaluations.
Among our participants, youth completed the program and were provided with a youth leader toastmaster’s certificate.
