Every successful business starts with a dream — for Ibrahim, that dream began in his home kitchen and grew into a downtown Edmonton storefront.
When Ibrahim first started making cookies, he had a passion for baking and a vision to share his creations with the community. Through Action for Healthy Communities’ entrepreneurship training and business mentoring programs, he gained valuable knowledge, guidance, and confidence to turn his idea into a business.
Starting with a conventional oven at home, Ibrahim began by offering samples and selling homemade treats from his kitchen. As interest grew, he expanded into a community kitchen, participated in farmers’ markets, and built a loyal customer base.
Today, Ibrahim is the co-founder of COSW Cookies & Sweet, a downtown Edmonton business offering premium gourmet cookies, desserts, and coffee. His journey is an inspiring example of how determination, mentorship, and community support can help entrepreneurs overcome challenges and transform their ideas into successful businesses.
At Action for Healthy Communities, we believe every entrepreneur has the potential to create something meaningful. With access to the right resources, training, and support, a dream can become a business that creates opportunities and strengthens the community.
