Empowering Leadership in Youth through Community Action (ELYCA) hosted its Impact Sharing Event for the 2025/26 cohort, celebrating youth-led initiatives implemented between June 2025 and February 2026. The event provided an inspiring platform for youth leaders to showcase their projects, reflect on their learning, and demonstrate the meaningful impact of youth leadership within their communities.
The initiatives addressed a diverse range of community priorities, including Environment & Sustainability, Culture & Heritage, Education & Career Development, Health & Wellbeing, and Equity & Inclusion. Through creativity, commitment, and community engagement, participants demonstrated the power of young people to drive real change and transform their communities.
A total of 55 youth leaders graduated from the program this year and proudly received Certificates of Achievement, signed by Rechie Valdez, recognizing their dedication, leadership, and contributions to building stronger, inclusive communities. Several participants implemented projects ranging from local environmental clean-ups to cultural awareness campaigns, highlighting the tangible results of youth-led community initiatives.
ELYCA continues to be a leading youth development program in Canada, equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and networks needed to lead community projects and make a lasting social impact. The program’s ongoing focus on youth empowerment, leadership development, and community service ensures that participants are not only prepared for future career opportunities but are also active agents of change in their neighborhoods.
