Activities/EventsAHCAHC Stories

On March 25th and 26th, Action for Healthy Communities (AHC) proudly hosted two successful hiring events in Edmonton, partnering with Boston Pizza and McDonald’s. These events connected job seekers, employers, and community members, creating meaningful career opportunities and supporting local workforce development.

On March 25th, AHC welcomed Boston Pizza, attracting over 60 applicants interested in roles at multiple locations across the city. Participants had the chance to meet directly with hiring managers and leadership teams, learn more about available restaurant jobs, and participate in one-on-one pre-screen interviews. The event provided a supportive environment where candidates could build confidence, ask questions, and explore career paths in the hospitality industry. Several participants were shortlisted for second interviews, showing the event’s success in connecting skilled candidates with employers.

The following day, on March 26th, AHC partnered with McDonald’s Canada for another well-attended hiring event. Nearly 60 clients attended to explore fast-food employment opportunities, meet with management, and engage in one-on-one pre-screen interviews. Several candidates were shortlisted for second interviews, and a few have already been hired, demonstrating the positive impact of these community hiring initiatives.

AHC sincerely thanks both Boston Pizza and McDonald’s for their ongoing support and commitment to our clients’ career development. By engaging directly with job seekers in Edmonton, these employers help open doors, create opportunities, and strengthen the local skilled workforce. These partnerships play a crucial role in fostering meaningful employment outcomes and building pathways to sustainable careers.

Through events like these, AHC continues to provide inclusive employment programs, connecting job seekers with employers and supporting professional growth. We look forward to hosting more hiring events, expanding career opportunities, and helping community members achieve success in their chosen fields.
