What a great week for ambitious community members making connections! Last week AHC’s Entrepreneurship Department hosted one of their Network as a Pro sessions where 36 budding entrepreneurs got to learn essential networking skills from special speakers with years of experience at BNI Alberta North and L6S Business Consulting.
First, Aanand Mehta from BNI Alberta North walked the participants through how to prepare for a networking event – from how to dress to impress, what mentality to have, and how to do your research so you can gain the most value from the event. Next, Kevin Macdonald from L6S Business Consulting and Neville Ward from BNI Alberta North discussed how to get the most out of a networking event while you’re in attendance. The topics they covered included how to be your most confident self, how to ask questions that will help you learn and build relationships with others, and how to be respectful and considerate of others interests and time during the events.
Entrepreneurs got the opportunity to practice these new skills and meet with potential associates. The night couldn’t have gone better – participants received valuable insights and made plenty of connections amongst each other. We can’t wait to see the impacts this will have on the entrepreneurs in our Business Development Training Program!
