Action for Healthy Communities was thrilled to partner with Entrust Disabilities for our November Employer Spotlight, bringing a unique opportunity for our newcomer clients to learn, connect, and pursue meaningful employment within the disability support sector.
Entrust Disabilities embodies a commitment to creating inclusive workplaces, and their team shared a powerful presentation covering their organization’s mission, values, and the variety of career pathways available. Special focus was placed on the Community Support Worker role—highlighting both the impact and responsibility of supporting individuals with disabilities in Alberta.
About fifteen AHC clients attended the event, each gaining direct insight into what it takes to work in disability services. Entrust Disabilities provided clarity on job requirements, essential skills, and the qualities they seek in candidates. Following the introduction, every client had the chance for one-on-one conversations with Entrust staff, and those keenly interested were invited to interview for support worker roles.
The event not only fostered new employment connections but also reinforced our dedication to bridging newcomers with workplace opportunities that benefit both individuals and our broader community.
With every Employer Spotlight, AHC continues to open doors, helping newcomers gain confidence, share their stories, and build brighter futures alongside our valued employer partners.
