During the Summer months, we are offering the following activities and events:

 

  • Tourist Challenge
    • August 1-31
    • For every day of August, tour the city of Cold Lake and show us your favourite things! Tag us in an Instagram picture every day completing the daily challenge and at the end of the month, the individual who completes the most challenges gets a $50 Starbucks gift card!
    • *If there is a tie for the individuals who complete the most challenges then a raffle will be used to determine the prize winner.
  • Movie Nights
    • July 30th, August 6th, August 13th, August 27th
    • Watching movies at home isn’t quite the same as watching at a movie theatre. Spend an evening watching some of your favourite movie series/movies at either FCSS, the Grand Square Cinema, or maybe even a Drive-In!
  • Paint Days
    • August 5th and August 19th, 6:30pm-8:30pm
    • Ever tried painting? Do you enjoy painting? Come join us in an evening of relaxation and painting, with Bob Ross! We’ll be supplying canvas, paint, and the Bob Ross tutorial so all you need to bring is yourself and some clothes you don’t mind getting dirty!
  • Baking/Cooking Class
    • August 12th, 1pm-3pm
    • August 26th, 11am-1pm
    • Try out these cool, easy, and new recipes to try at FCSS. Find new ways to cook without any hassle and work from your end!
  • Online Workshops
    • Held on Mondays, once every week.
    • There is no better time to learn skills than now! Take the time to learn new things for the summer. These online workshops could be the basis of your new skills.
    • August 10 – Coding Workshop
      • Want to learn basic code? This one hour virtual workshop will focus on the basics of the coding language Python. Python is a general-purpose, versatile, and powerful programming language that is great as a first language if you’re just getting started.

  • Tie-Dye & Reverse Tie-Dye Day
    • August 7th, 1pm-3pm
    • Sick of your old, plain white t-shirts? Join us for a fun day and have a go on tie-dying/reverse tie-dying your t-shirts!
  • Golf Day
    • Tentative date: August 14th **
    • Participants will be able to try out golf, a sport that not many people have a chance to try! A day at the golf course, you’ll likely be at the driving range to practice your swing, at the practice putting, and chipping greens. Lead by instructions from the staff at the golf course.
  • Boxing Day
    • Date & Time: August 20th, 4:30 PM
    • A new, different way to stay fit! Participants will get a chance to try out a new sport, Boxing, at Titans’ Boxing Club through a beginner’s class. A preview of what one of the many activities/clubs Cold Lake offers its youth and general population!
